Our Mission
Communication is Key AAC, DBA Roots & Wings Learning Academy, is a Michigan nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting individuals with complex communication needs. We believe every person has the fundamental right to communicate and provide a neuro-affirming, safe learning community where neurodivergent learners thrive through a therapeutic, multi-sensory, and individualized approach to education.

How so?

Being an established 501C3 not-for- profit since 2019, Roots & Wings receives no state/county funding, therefore it is funded by tuition, grants, and donations
-
No IEP’s, but a collaborative individualized learning plan is developed for each student with open communication and progress reports incorporating assistive technology, flexible seating options, and alternative pencils
